Cro-Mags
High-octane punk bombast wrapped in a vicious metallic riffage, the Cro-Mags weren't only New York's most important hardcore band, they were a way of life. Rocky Votolato
Seattle musician Rocky Votolato is a soft-spoken, very kind, very hard-working father of two, born in rural Texas and raised in the Pacific Northwest indie scene (where he fronted the acclaimed rock band Waxwing). In his decade-plus life as a songwriter and musician he has sought to articulate something essential about life, writing songs that seem to have been scratched into a boxcar wall by a worn-out and lonesome ghost. His gravelly, sandpaper smooth voice and introspective lyrics mark him as that most rare of punk-rocker-turned-acoustic-troubadours; Votolato writes graceful, understated, human, unpretentious songs, demonstrating that simplicity is still a viable option for accomplished songwriters. Walking the line between autobiographical fact and fiction, his new album, "True Devotion", is deceptively simple, peppering impressionistic narratives with moments of lyrical wisdom that can knock the wind out of you. Rocky will play with Adam H. Stephens from the band Two Gallants and Bears of Manitou.

Manchester Orchestra
After filling the opening slot for so many tours the past few years, Manchester Orchestra finally headline their own tour. Inspired by the pounding, primal assault of Weezer's Pinkerton , Nirvana's In Utero , and Foo Fighters' The Colour and the Shape , this young band has created its own version of what a classic rock album should sound like, complete with fiercely beautiful melodies, shifting guitar and keyboard textures, loud/soft dynamics, and an urgency in each band member's performance, especially Hull's cathartic vocals. With The Features, Biffy Clyro, O'Brother.

Michelle Blades (CD Release Show)
The Niece of Rubén Blades and folk ukulele singer/songwriter is rising up in Phoenix, Arizona, with performances and album releases on the River Jones Music Label. Think Indie and Stinkweeds liked her new release so much they thought it deserved a feature in their stores and are offering to stream the entire release online. The first Physical CD copies will be available at our mixer/party at Trunk Space. Phoenix New Times wrote recently..."Michelle Blades stood out as a jazzy Regina Spektor with a interchangeable flourishes of Blossom Dearie and Devendra Banhart. Blades began her set on guitar with The Pioneers backing her, promptly switch to ukulele and brought out Tobie Milford on violin and Erica Shafer on upright bass. Enrapturing the crowd, Blades finished her set by making a song with the audience providing improvised vocals and percussion, while she scatted and freestyled." And also... "Blades sounds like an island-y Joni Mitchell — or a sweeter Jolie Holland — when she plays her jazz-inspired folk. There's a soulful edge to her timbre, but plenty of rasp and scratch in that voice, like something you might hear from a chain-smoking lounge singer in the 1940s." Parrrrrty! Brought to you by The Trunk Space.

P. O. S.
Indie hip hopper on Rhymesayers P.O.S. hits up Chasers! Most of P.O.S’ recent album was written in a moving car. On it, he raps at full-clip to ride rolling drums and revving distortion. P.O.S built his reputation as an innovator, with an unlikely punk rock past and expressive, honest content. With Grieves, & Dessa (Doomtree). Tickets available at Stinkweeds and Eastside. All ages.

Breathe Carolina
The story of Breathe Carolina is a modern day music fairytale – of two friends who recorded tracks on GarageBand at home in Denver, CO, put them on to MySpace and rapidly gained a huge online following that transformed their hobby into a career, and them into stars. “We got started just by hanging out,” reflects Kyle. “We just sat in a room and threw ideas back and forth, and had to take trips to the library to talk to people online because we didn't have internet at our house. We honestly weren't expecting anything, we just made some songs and people started hitting us up about them. It's been way crazier than anything we could have imagined it to be.” All ages. With Let’s Get It, Queens Club, Spin Cycle.
