Murder By Death
Murder By Death are heading out on tour to promote their new album Good Morning, Magpie. Vocalist Adam Turla wrote most of the material for Good Morning, Magpie this past June, as he explains to Spinner, “I drove out to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, parked the car and went into the woods with a backpack and a tent. I came out two weeks later with a bunch of songs.” The band recorded and self-produced the record this past December at Bloomington-based Farm Fresh Studios, and later had Trina Shoemaker mix the tracks. The effort follows their 2008 Vagrant debut Red of Tooth and Claw, which was universally acclaimed for it’s cinematic storytelling and what Performing Songwriter calls “dirty, killer American rock.”
